We are sad to announce that our Lopen Ogyen Thinley, co-principal of the shedra, passed away on 10 August 2012 at Nyimalung Monastery. He was cremated there during a ceremony of all the monks of the monastery, led by Dudjom Rinpoche, spiritual director of Nyimalung Monastery.
Lopen’s 49th day will be the 20th September.
Lopen entered Nyimalung lobdra in 1971 at age 8, becoming a lopen at 27. He is appreciated for his skill at torma and kar gyen making, and gained widespread recognition using the black-necked crane and flowers in torma decoration.
All of Nyimalung’s lamas and monks miss him, and pray for his quick rebirth.
